Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Introduction to Robotics Summer Camp
We are once again working with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to put on the 9th annual Engineering & Robotics Summer Camp! This camp allows students a perfect opportunity to have their first experiences with Engineering and Robotics Skill, over a week we teach the basics of mechatronics and guide students through building (for many of them) their first ever robots!
This year this camp is supported by a grant from Sparklight to support our StormMakers Initiative to improve and create new summer camp opportunities for students to work in STEAM and Robotics!
Delta Area Association for the Improvement of Schools (DAAIS) STEAM Expo
This showcase, hosted by DAAIS, on the campus of Delta State University, will feature Storm alongside students from across the Mississippi Delta as they demonstrate innovative projects and participate in competitions focused on STEAM!
FIRST Tech Challenge BioBuzz 2026 Season Kick Off
As always we are preparing and anticipating the kick off of the upcoming FIRST Tech Challenge Season! As an organization we are looking forward to our team/s once again taking an active role in the state kick-off, with the goal of leading at least one break out session with the unveiling of this seasons EveryWATT! More information to follow as we determine time, locations, and details on break out sessions!
2026 Making Connections in Education Southern Regional Educational Service Agency
Storm will be representing FIRST with interactive displays and robot demonstrations at this educators conference sponsored by Mississippi Power and located in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention Center. Our members will talk about their experiences and share how much FIRST programs have positively impacted their lives! Nearly 3000 educators and presenters are anticipated to attend this two day event!

NASA Infinity Center Robot Demonstration
We will be doing a FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition robot demonstration at the Infinity Science Center located near the Stennis Space Center. This will be an all day event where we showcase FIRST to our regional community by providing interactive demonstrations allowing students to not just view and discuss robotics but actually put controls and tools in their hands!
Halloween @ The Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum
Team Storm, Lightning, and Downpour have been working with the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum in Gulfport to rebuild a Foosball table branded in a Thunderbirds vs. Blue Angels livery. This is a community event for those who are interested in supporting the Aviation Heritage Museum and seeing a cool project that we at Storm are very proud of!
Mississippi Gulf Coast FTC Build Day
Team’s Lightning and Downpour are looking forward to attending this years FTC Build Day hosted by St. Stanislaus’ FTC Team 19795 Rockbotics! We will be setting up demonstrations on this seasons EveryWATT as well as offering portfolio support for all interested teams.
